When Metropolitan Bakery owner, Wendy Born, decided to convert the flower shop next to the Metropolitan Bakery at Rittenhouse Square into a Cafe, she asked for our help. Having previously completed the total renovation of Wendy's condominium on the Square, we were commissioned to realize the vision of architect Vibeke Lichten's design for a Cafe. The floor is a colored concrete and the walls are natural walnut. The custom cabinetry consists of both stainless steel and painted cabinets with white Carrera marble and stainless steel counter tops. As a special feature, a "green wall" of plantings was included. Details including solid walnut counter tops in the dining area, stainless steel tiles in the powder room and chalk board painted surfaces for menus help provide for a warm, inviting atmosphere.
